No BlizzCon in 2012 - Battle.net World Championship

Blizzard gamers and eSports fans from around the world will be invited to attend and witness some of the most skilled pro players on the planet battle it out for cash and glory.

We’re excited to be showcasing Blizzard eSports on a truly global stage this year. We're also heavily focused on getting Diablo III, Mists of Pandaria, and Heart of the Swarm into players’ hands as soon as possible. In light of our jam-packed schedule, we’ve decided to hold the next BlizzCon in 2013.

More details about the 2012 Battle.net World Championship and BlizzCon 2013, including specific dates and locations, will be coming in the months ahead.

In a year when we're working to release multiple titles (knock on wood) it makes sense to focus our efforts. Also with multiple game releases we just wonder if we'd be at a point with any of them where we'd have anything really big or new or cool to talk about.

We didn't have a BlizzCon in 2006 either, and at that time we were really strong on the idea that BlizzCon isn't really supposed to be and doesn't have to be an annual event. Of course then we have it for five straight years in a row... which obviously built some expectation.

Personally I always enjoy seeing the excitement, the rushing crowds, hearing the clicking of mice on the demo stations, and waiting in agony as the seconds countdown to an announcement and then the waves of emotion from the crowd that follow it. But thinking about our year and what we're trying to get done already without a BlizzCon, and having to think pretty hard about what we'd have to announce or demo, it just makes sense to me not to have one.

Here's to the Battle.net World Championship, it's going to be awesome, and to a bigger and better BlizzCon in 2013.

Were Back Thanks Again For Sticking With Us And Supporting This Cause

Were back, Thanks for staying with us i know there were people who wanted to see my video's today and well im sorry. If we didn't have stupid lawmakers and even dumber people (MPAA) trying to get laws past we wouldn't have had to do any of this.

That said are voice was heard, the fight is just beginning but most are either willing to work with us or have completely withdrawn there support.
check CNET’s coverage here.

"In the future, whenever you feel small, helpless or voiceless, look back to this week and know that you helped shape history for the better."
The battle is not over. In fact, it’s only just begun. If you want to ensure free non-censored Internet, make sure you stay tuned in the months ahead and stay vigilant Speak your mind don't stop talking and telling people about it, we stop talking they win.

A Day Of Protest January 18th - Update

JOIN US IN OUR PROTEST AGAINST SOPA AND SHARE THIS POST.

Now that we’ve got your attention, we want to draw your attention to a threat that threatens the very core of the gaming community.
The “Stop Online Piracy Act”, aka SOPA, is a proposed bill in the United States Congress that, if enacted, would effectively end the internet as we know it. In a ham-fisted attempt to combat piracy, Congress has opted for the “Nuke from Orbit” approach, hurting both the community from whom they benefit and developers they seek to protect. We cannot allow this to happen.

If this is the first you are hearing of SOPA, take a moment to read the bill itself ( http://judiciary.house.gov/hearings/pdf/112%20HR%203261.pdf ) by visiting the Electronic Frontier Foundation ( https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2011/10/sopa-hollywood-finally-gets-chance-break-internet ) for more information.

Allow us to stress, Razer does not condone piracy in any way. We feel it damages the industry and we will stand against anything that hurts either the gaming community or the developers. However, we firmly believe that SOPA is the absolute wrong way to combat this problem and we are not alone in thinking this. Other gaming companies like Red 5, Riot Games and Mojang stand with us in opposition. However, this bill does not only affect software and game developers and we hope our actions will lead other gaming hardware vendors to join our protest against SOPA.

So please join us in a day of protest. We will be taking down our site for one day, January 18th, to give you taste of what the future may hold if we fail to put an end to SOPA and similar ill-conceived legislation. In its place, we will upload the image above as a placeholder for our site. While this may have an impact on our business, we believe this is a small price to pay to show how the Internet could become if this bill was to be supported.

For Gamers. By Gamers. It is not just a motto, it is our way of life. We work hard to do right by our community. We’ll be damned if we’re going to let an attack like this go unanswered.

-Team Razer

*We apologize in advance to anyone offended by the image but it sums up our perspective to this draconian bill.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We will be doing this as well this image here will be the only post you'll see that day,  If you don't stand up for what you believe you cant complain when stupid crap happens.

Update 1.

Over the weekend President Obama and congress have shelved both anti piracy acts, making the both dead however there not completely dead and can be brought up at any time.
Were still going through with January 18th despite these recent developments.

Protect IP or PIPA is still alive and basically does the same thing SOPA threatened to do and is currently favored by most senators.

Wikipedia joins Reddit, Boing Boing and dozens of lesser-known sites in what some have dubbed the SOPA Strike, an attempt to widen their complaints about proposals supported by the movie industry and other media companies.

"Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor, it must be demanded by the oppressed, MLK on Wednesday, Wikipedia demands," Wales said via Twitter Monday, the Martin Luther King holiday. He had earlier signaled the coming blackout by tweeting: "Student warning! Do your homework early. Wikipedia protesting bad law on Wednesday!#sopa."
I wanna make it known the YouTube channel will have all its content stripped from it, in it's place will be informational video's about these two bills for the day as well.
(We may also use the radio player to stream interviews and discussions on this issue)
You come to the site that day you'll see what SOPA/PIPA will do to the internet first hand. This is just a taste of what you'll see if one of them are passed.
Not only are these bills a liability to our freedom it will severely damage your personal/financial security.
Join in on the blackout to protect your freedom by adding a black "stop censorship" box to your site January 18th, if you want to blackout your whole website simply make the box wider and/or taller. Read the full article HERE

Patch 4.3.2 - Cross-Realm Raids

Originally Posted by Blizzard (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

This will allow you to join up with your Real ID friends from other realms and:
  • Form a cross-realm raid and use Raid Finder
  • Jump in to any classic dungeon or raid and be automatically placed in the same instance
  • Join forces and dominate the Battlegrounds

Please note, you will not yet be able to run normal or Heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm Real ID raids.

As we look forward to the BattleTag system, it’s a very exciting time for World of Warcraft. No matter what realm you and your friends are on you’ll be able to team up and take on group content throughout the game.

4.3.2 PTR and New File Optimization Tech (Blue post)

With the 4.3.2 patch we’ll be testing some new file optimization tech. As you may be aware, with previous major expansion patches (2.0, 3.0, 4.0, etc.) we’ve carried out a time-consuming process to reorganize the game files currently installed on your hard drive to integrate all previous patch files, essentially ‘cleaning up’ what’s on your computer and reducing the full installation size. This process used to require an amount of free hard drive space double that of the entire installation size to complete, which is why we’ve reserved them for large expansion-sized patches.

The new tech we’re testing with the 4.3.2 PTR will process these cleanups with no additional hard drive space required beyond what the patch is adding. Because of that you may see them appear more frequently with patches.

While the cleanup is occurring you’ll see a specific message on the launcher informing you the process is currently taking place. If you encounter any issues with the new process please be sure to visit our support site at http://www.battle.net/support/

Patch 4.3.2 (Bug Fix Patch) on Test Realms

A new Patch 4.3.2 is being deployed on test realms as we speak, this is a "minor bug fix patch." according to the official notes but we do not have more details for the moment.

World of Warcraft Optimization
The launcher now optimizes your game folder and tries to improve game performance/reduce the size of the install on your hard drive.

64 Bit Game Client
The 64 bit client might appear in this patch, the current test build is tagged as "test x86", which implies that a 64 bit version is available somewhere.

Darkmoon Faire - Known Issues

-  There is an issue with rolling on (Guide Quest Items) where as long as a person who loots it has a guide, the group loot option allows all 5 to roll on it, even if only 2 in group have a guide. It's allowing people to win and sell an item who didn't even take any part in the darkmoon faire. I hope that's addressed more then anything. Sure the guide is easy to get, but you'd be surprised how many don't have it don't know about it, and still win this item.

The drop rate leaves a lot to be desired too. I actually run a lot of VP and lost city because those are the two heroics that have two bosses that can drop one, all the others are just 1 potential boss. I thought maybe the drop rate would be ok over the span of month between fairs, but it almost seemed like the drop rate was even lower. They sell for 20k on AH because of their rarity and that's insane.

-  Grisly Trophies was designed to do it that week, the reason you had a quest left over from last month is you didn't do it last month, but since you turned that one in this week you can't get another one.

Some workarounds have been suggested you can try, such as using an illusion item like iron flask or orb of the sindorai
